Do we have any discords?
Spacecraft based on real engineering is debatable.

One must not be stuck in a vintage 1950s brute force mentality of vertical flight.
This craft is purely air-breathing, yet it is able to make zoom climbs into suborbital space (largely due to its phenomenal TWR and maximum speed). It is derived from the X-15, is used as an astronaut trainer, and several orbital spacecraft components have been derived from its components or the development data it produced.

So, would it count as a "Real[istic] Spaceship Design" befitting this group's gallery, or is orbital capability a prerequisite?
I'd put it under Hard SF Ships, so yes, it's good for a submission.
So, my latest deviation got rejected, which I don't really mind, but there was no explanation on why? That's the part I'd be most interested to read, group info says that you add an explanation upon rejection, which is a good opportunity for me to learn something new, and improve in the future :)
My apologies. You're right I should have said why I rejected it. The main reason I rejected it was that it wasn't "Medium Hard". Looking at it, it gave me the impression of a "Buck Rogers" ship. But, having gone back and looked at in your gallery, it's still not Medium Hard, but it is Cinematic Hard. Don't take this as a slight, if the folks who designed the Roccinate from The Expanse were to submit a rendering of their ship, it too would go under Cinematic Hard.

So I'll leave it up to you to resubmit it if you want. I will approve it under the Cinematic Hard category.

Again, my apologies for not explaining why.
Well this is also my own blunder, I didn't really comsider the difference between "Medium Hard" and "Cinematic Hard". :) I went thru all of my basic steps of adding the parts a spaceship would need, measuring propellant volume etc, but I did also visually stylize it in a different way than usual. Which is why I was interested in the commentary on it. Thank you, I'll consider categories more in the future.

On an unrelated note, would you or someone around here be able to resolve a confusion I have about the Mini Mag-Orion? I've gone thru everything on the Atomic Rockets page, and even tried to reach Winchell C., but no luck.
